Hardin County Community Cats
Love Cats and want to help?
Volunteering is a deeply rewarding experience that goes far beyond simply spending time with adorable felines. By offering your time and care, you play a vital role in giving abandoned, stray, or abused cats a second chance at life. Volunteers help in many ways—cleaning enclosures, socializing shy or traumatized cats, assisting with adoption events, or even fostering those who need extra care. Each task contributes directly to the cats’ well-being and increases their chances of finding loving forever homes. The joy of seeing a once-scared cat grow confident and affectionate, or watching a long-term resident finally get adopted, creates a powerful sense of purpose and fulfillment.
Volunteer opportunities consist of:
helping at adoption events where we set up kennels, fill with adoptable cats and kittens and promote the work we do at Hardin County Community Cats.
We have SNIP clinic twice a month where we offer low cost spay and neuter program to our community and we spay/neuter our own HCCC foster cats as well. This is volunteer-run and may consist of just monitoring cats, helping organize or assisting where needed.
When we are able, we do a Trap-Neuter-Release to fix a large colony of cats all at one time. This helps prevent the over population of stray cats in Hardin County and it is vital to the community. This takes a lot of hands, coordinating and volunteers.
We also use volunteers for taking pictures, transporting cats, or many other things! Please contact us if you're interested, we'd love to have any help.
